The F1088 thread sewing machine was developed especially for digital printers who wish to be self-sufficient in on-demand production of sewn books.
It enables the convenience of digital print to be combined with the highest possible bookbinding quality.
Indeed a sewn book block is more resistant and has better lay-flat properties than any kind of adhesive bound bookblock.
The F1088 has simple operation and can be used with all types of paper.
The digital printing machine must print sheets in the appropriate sequence for subsequent sewing. The sheets are folded in half and superimposed (e.g. on a saddle stitcher) so as to form signatures.
These signatures are fed by hand onto the saddle of the F1088.
At the end of the book the threads are cut off automatically by means of built-in knives. That way the operator can easily separate sewn book blocks from one another on the delivery table.
F1088 is the right solution for oversize books as well
Thanks to the enormous size range of the F1088 trade bookbinders can sew extra-large size jobs coming from offset print such as registers, art books and prestigious editions.
